Quote du Jour

Trifles, light as air
Are to the jealous confirmations strong
As proofs of holy writ.

Delhi - 3/28/08

We were going to attend a cricket match last night, but apparently there was a fight the night before that resulted in the destruction of the ticket booth. They were building a new one when we stopped by to get tickets, so we were out of luck. Instead, we went to a new gigantic mall (1km long, 4 stories) filled with fancy stores that aren't very interesting to me. I'm starting to figure out which foods I like -- I just ask them for the blandest tasting thing they have and it ends up being just the right amount of spice for me.

Today we went to Delhi for some sight-seeing. Here are a few highlights.

power

More cords than Alexander would know what to do with. No wonder the power goes out several times a day. It has gone out twice while I've been writing this.
Rob in their sights Rob takes a picture while a gun is pointed at him. (He didn't notice until he was done with the photo.)

Jama Masjid Friday mosque (Jama Masjid). Since it was Friday, it was filled with Muslims praying and discussing.
Justin Photo taken by the guide at the Friday Mosque. This one cost me 200 rupees and it's blurry and was crooked before I rotated it.
Delhi Delhi from above - we climbed a minaret, which is an experience that combines all of my favorite phobias: claustro, acro, and whatever "fear of darkness", "fear of falling", and "fear of crowds (agorophobia?)" are.
Fire in the road Either pyromania or road repair.
Hunger Strike Hunger strike till death -- over a month already!
Monkey guy This guy insisted on 100 rupees for this photo. I told him it was worth 10.

Interesting pictures! I never been India before, its really has different live style than China. I always want to try the elephant ride, I guess its suppose has better feeling than drive the HUMMER on the street.

It's great that you combined photos of different places. This variety makes viewing them more interesting. India has so many fascinating places to see and to visit. My friend came back from India recently. Though I haven't seen her photos yet, well I've seen yours :)
